We operate the Site under the brand VideoCaptionStudio.
What data we process & why
Necessary (no consent required)
- Technical data sent by your browser (e.g., IP address, user agent) to deliver pages, prevent abuse and ensure security (firewalls, rate limiting).
- Cookie preference (your analytics consent choice) — stored for up to 13 months so we don’t ask you on every visit.
- UTM parameters (campaign tags) — stored in
localStoragefor up to 90 days to keep attribution on our own buttons. This storage is functional and does not track you across third-party sites.
Analytics (consent required)
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — page views, events and device information used to understand aggregated traffic and improve the Site. Loaded only after you click “Accept analytics”.
Legal bases (GDPR): necessary processing relies on our legitimate interests (security, operation); analytics relies on your consent.
How consent works (Consent Mode v2)
Before consent, we set analytics_storage=denied and do not load GA4. If you accept, we switch to analytics_storage=granted and load GA4. You can withdraw or change your choice anytime.
When we load third-party content
- YouTube (nocookie) embeds — we show a thumbnail first and create the iframe only when you click play (to improve performance and limit unsolicited requests). YouTube may set cookies as per its own policy once you interact with the player.
- Affiliate links — outbound buttons/links to our CapCut partner use the URL

Data retention
- Cookie consent: up to 13 months.
- LocalStorage UTM parameters: up to 90 days.
- Analytics data: kept in GA4 according to settings configured for this property; we do not attempt to identify you.
Where data is processed
The Site is hosted by Netlify, Inc.. Analytics (when enabled) is provided by Google LLC. These services may process data in the EU and outside the EU (e.g., the United States). When data is transferred outside the EEA, appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) apply according to each provider’s terms.
Security
We use HTTPS, security headers and reputable hosting. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; we continuously work to improve our safeguards.
Your rights (GDPR)
You can request access, rectification, deletion, restriction, portability or object to processing where applicable. You may also withdraw your consent for analytics at any time (see “Manage cookies”).
