CapCut 2025: faster AI captions, better lip-sync, safer dubbing

We stress-tested the February 2025 CapCut updates across Web, Desktop and Mobile: subtitles now generate faster, lip-sync is tighter on short clips, templates got a refresh, and dubbing keeps more punctuation. Here’s what changed and how to stack the tools without breaking your export flow.

Tests we ran

Settings to copy

  1. Enable AI captions, set 2 lines max, 42 chars/line; choose high-contrast style.
  2. For dubbing, keep source audio at -16 LUFS; export SRT + hard-burned version.
  3. Draft exports at 1080p; final at 4K on Desktop for crisp text.

Pairing with avatars

If you need presenter-style shots before captions, generate them in an avatar tool then return to CapCut for subtitles and pacing. We used this avatar generator; lip-sync stayed aligned after import, and captions matched the new templates.

Workflow (fast lane)

  1. Import clip → run AI captions → fix line breaks.
  2. Duplicate track → run dubbing if needed → export clean audio.
  3. Apply refreshed vertical template; lock safe zones.
  4. Add CTA/text overlays; keep under 15% of the frame.
  5. Export 1080p draft, then 4K final (Desktop) with SRT.
